What is a Shipment Number?

A shipment number is assigned every time a shipment is scheduled. This number can be auto-generated by Tracmor, or it can be a user-defined number. (A user with administrator permissions determines if this number is custom or auto-generated in the Admin tab under Shipping/Receiving.)

If Tracmor generates the shipment number, it is generally the next number in a series, based on the order in which the shipment was scheduled.

Tracmor uses the Shipment Number for such purposes as tracking a shipped asset to be received. In that instance, the shipment number appears in the notes section of the Receipt.

The shipment number is associated with a unique record that can be referenced by navigating to the Shipping tab and clicking on Shipments on the shortcut menu.
