Where are check in and check out settings set?

A user with administrator permissions can set the Check In/Out policy by navigating to the Admin tab and clicking Check In/Out on the shortcut menu.

The policy applies globally; the options are:

  • Strict check in policy.  Check-in of assets can only be done by the user who performed the original check out.
  • Check-out to other users. Allow users to check out assets to other users.
  • Check-out to contacts. Allow users to check out assets to contacts.
  • Due date required. Require a due date to be set when checking out assets.
  • Reason required. Require a reason when checking out assets.
  • Default check-out period (hours). The due date will default to this number of hours from the current date/time.
