Tracmor is a centrally hosted "software as a service" tool that is compatible with any internet-enabled device running the latest version of major web browsers including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Safari.
Important browser settings
- If you use a pop-up blocker, be sure to "allow" pop-ups for the Tracmor domain to enable full functionality.
- Be sure to "enable cookies," particularly if you are using Safari and a mobile device.
One of the many advantages of using Tracmor is the inherent security and and data recovery provided by the Amazon Web Services (AWS) hosting platform, as described in detail below. Tracmor tracks every entry and transaction for complete trace-ability.
If you want to keep "backup" information on your local system, Tracmor provides the capability to export defined sets of data and generate three types of reports for assets and two types of reports for inventory items. Note that downloadable data does not constitute a complete backup.
For more information on downloading information and records, see:
- The "Exporting data" section of any of the articles on assets, inventory, and all articles under Set Up in the help desk.
- What do I need to know about reports?
About internet security
Tracmor software is developed using the Laravel framework, over a LEMP (Linux, Nginx, MySQL, PHP) stack infrastructure. We host with Amazon Web Services, utilizing EC2 for web servers, RDS (multi availability zone) for databases, and S3 for file storage. This means our servers and firewalls are monitored 24/7 at AWS’s world-class, highly secure data centers. For web browser security the connection to the server is encrypted using an SSL certificate with the sha256 signature algorithm.
